Interlocking rings made out of PLA plastic with a 3D pen. Inspiration was drawn from The Beijing National Stadium, often referred to as the bird's nest, which was constructed for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. 6"x4"
Layered foam and card-stock in the shape of triangular pyramids. Intended as a structure with many purposes and organization possibilities. 9"x9"
Tree constructed of sculpture wire, medical tape, and fake moss encased in acrylic box cut with jigsaw and smoothed with blowtorch. The box is illuminated by LED strips fixed to the base. This sculpture represents the joining of modern architecture and nature and is intended to be viewed as a building designed around a tree rather than in place of. The inspiration behind this piece stems from my respect for nature and belief that it often does not need to be disrupted in order to create structures for human use. 8"x12"
Basswood whittled with a geometric theme in mind. Intended to mimic Frank Gehrig's design process. Large chunks were removed with little consideration of placement or size for final design, then sanded down to create a smoother geometric look. 2" x 6"
